My Minis Collection

Hey Everyone,

Recently I have been drawn to minis, not just because they are cute, but in regards to certain products, I’m more likely to actually finish it if it’s a mini. This is my current mini collection and I am always on the hunt for more brands that do minis and also minis that I can buy regularly.

These are all of my current Tarte minis, recently I did a haul that gave me pretty much all of these and I love it! I honestly don’t think I will ever need to purchase a full size Tarte blush. The blush on the bottom I have had for over a year, and look how little I have used! You can’t use a heavy hand with these blushes, which is what makes them last forever. Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara is one of my favourites and I prefer getting the mini as then I am more likely to finish it before going off or drying out.

The rest of my mini collection! Most of these have either come from Mecca Beauty Loop boxes or from Sephora as point perks. I have another NARS gloss, but I have no idea where it is since I moved, so hopefully that’ll turn up again! I have gotten so much use out of the Too Faced Melted lipstick which has surprised me. Most of these though I have barely used, but I am working on it!

What is your favourite mini to have?

My recent experience with Sephora Online

Hey Everyone,

I just want to start this post off with saying my issues are with the Australian version of Sephora not America, my two experiences with the in-store Sephora’s in America were fine.

This all started with the 20% off sale that Sephora had for Black Card members. I jumped on that and invited a friend to join in on my order. That was all fine and my package arrived on time, and thats about where the fun ended as my order was half WRONG.

Thankfully the thing that I had gotten for my friend was fine, so I could give that to her and that wasn’t something I had to stress about.

So, I sent this photo both to my friends and Sephora when they asked for a photo of what I received. In this photo you can clearly see what is wrong. I got brushes instead of my Tarte Sampler pack and a POWDER foundation instead of a LIQUID foundation.

So you know, I did the right thing and sent an email to Sephora asking for the correct products, gave them my order number and what I had got rather then what I had ordered.

A week later I finally got a reply and they asked for a photo and a list of what I was meant to get. So I did that and I tried to point out that I didn’t order the powder foundation but the liquid. As you can clearly see in this photo that there are two liquid foundation on my order not a powder and liquid.

After I fire off that email, I don’t hear anything for over a week, and then out of no where I get a text message that I will be expecting an order from Sephora in the next few days. Queue some drama with Aus Post but ah well, my friend managed to get my package for me Tuesday afternoon.

There is a theme of getting my orders half wrong apparently, because this time my Tarte item came, which I love and I can’t wait to use. But once again the foundation I was after did not arrive. They sent me the powder foundation again! Even though I had asked for the liquid version and was told that if they didn’t have my shade in stock I would be refunded.

I have sent off another email letting them know that I have gotten the wrong order and sent them a unedited photo of the picture above. So we shall see what happens now, I will make sure to post an update when I find out.

I got a refund for the foundation.

So yea, I don’t think I will ever order from Sephora online again, because this is just beyond ridiculous in regards to getting my order right.

Let me know what your experiences have been.

Find me on:

I hope to see you next time.

Green Shift Makeup Look!

Hey Guys!

I have been loving a darker look recently, and I am feel so inspired by winter! I am super happy with how my eyes turned out in this look, but not sure how I feel about my lips, I wanted to do something different but improvised.

My idea behind this look was that I wanted green eyes with a red crease. The hardest part of this was actually trying to get the red crease, as I wanted it to be matte. I found that the shadows that I thought would work for me didn’t, they weren’t red enough, so I had to lightly layer over a red shimmer. It worked out in the end, but I ended up using a lot more shadows in the crease than I wanted.

The main shadows of this look are Spectral Fragments by Femme Fatal Cosmetics and Lumi by Sugar Pill Cosmetics. I have a deep love for my Femme Fatal shades, because they are unique and so easy to work with. Lumi is a shadow that simply works with everything and I love it to death.

A quick close up of the eyeshadow look! below is a list of all the products used:

Base: Urban Decay Primer Potion

Crease Colours: Tarte In Bloom – Charmer, Jetsetter, Tarte Tease Palette – BFF, Femme Fatal Cosmetics – Flare

Lid Colour: Femme Fatal Cosmetics – Spectral Fragments

Inner Corner: Sugar Pill Cosmetics – Lumi Pigment

Lower Lash line: Lumi in inner corner, Spectral Fragments blended to outer corner.

Liners: Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper (lip liner), Estee Lauder Double Wear liner (water line)

Mascara: Tarte – Lights, Camera, Lashes (top lashes), Maybelline New York – Lash Sensational (lower lashes)

False Lashes: Ebay Lashes

Brows: Benefit Gimme Brow in Light/Medium, Australis – Extender Clear Brow Gel/ Mascara

Base: Loreal Infallible Matte Primer (Review)

Foundation: Kat Von D Lock-it shade 44

Powder: Nars Light Reflecting Loose Setting powder, Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Setting Powder (T-zone)

Contour: Nars Laguna Bronzer

Blush: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Mood Exposure

Highlighter: BECCA Shimmer Skin Perfecter Moonstone

Setting Spray: Skindinavia Setting Spray

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Unicorn Blood (swatch post)

Sugar Pill Lumi layer over top. (A different shade was also used, but looking back that shadow is not lip safe so I will not be listing it here.)

I found that while Spectral Fragments is a beautiful duo chrome colour, it does bruise on my eyes. So if you have an eye shape/ design (?) similar to mine please be aware of that! The green shift lasted really well on the part of my lid that did not fold away, the areas that did got bruised and so only had the dark undertone left.

I originally was going to pair JS Weirdo with this look, but I didn’t have it with me, so I thought I would try Unicorn Blood. This is my first experience trying to layer shadows like this over lipstick, I feel it turned out pretty well though!

What sort of looks would you like to see next? Please let me know below.

Under-Grad Graduation!

Hey Guys!

Last week on Tuesday (April 5th) I graduated from my Under-Grad Degree! I do not know if I have mentioned it much on my blog, but yes! I have been a full time student for the last three years and on Tuesday I Graduated from my Bachelor Of Arts! It honestly doesn’t feel real, but having my fancy piece of paper hanging on the wall beside me as I type is a solid reminder that, yes, I did complete a degree at uni!

I was so lucky to be able to Graduate with (most) of my friends who I started this degree with! It was such a great honour to study with these beautiful people. I can’t express enough how thankful I am that we could all go through this together and still be such great friends on the other side!

Although I failed at getting a good shot of what I was wearing under my gown, here is what the gown looks like in general! You might be wondering why were are all in team Hufflepuff colours. Well, to put it simply, we are all from the school of Communications and yellow is simply the colour of our school. I seem to find myself always in team yellow for school. Ah well, I guess it is just meant to be my colour! (even though it really does not go with blonde hair)

Here is a bit of a close up of my crazy face. I am pretty sure this is before we have received our degrees otherwise I would not have been this calm! As much as I loved wearing the gowns, I did actually get to a point where I over heated and almost passed out. Thankfully that was at the end of the night so it wasn’t a huge issue, but still. Kind of a scary moment! Thankfully my family was there for me though so it was all good!

What is on my face, you may wonder, well here is a short overview:

Lips: Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Redrum

Face: Kat Von D Lockit Foundation – Shade 45

Brows: ABH Dip Brow – Blonde

Eyes: Inglot Gel Eyeliner as a base (Inglot Gel Eyeliner – Review)

Tarte Tartelette In Bloom palette – shades used in the crease

NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow – Galisto

           Sugar Pill Pigment – Lumi

My dress, even though you do not really see it throughout this post, if from Tokito. I bought this the day before because Mum did not approve of what I was going to wear. And I am in a way glad, because I love the dress that I got and I know I will get a lot of use out of it! It was a simple Black A-line dress with a black belt that clasped at the front. The belt came attached and I love it. Mum of course complained it was black, my favourite colour haha! I personally prefer black clothing but colourful makeup.

I cannot wish for the day to go differently, because to me it went along beautifully. The only thing I do feel a little sad about is that after the ceremony we didn’t get a chance to take a photo of all of us together with out fancy paper. But at least I took a few photos before hand! Thank you again to my beautiful friends. I can’t imagine doing this degree without out you.

Now I have to wait for my next graduation! Which will happen in a few years. I am currently studying a Master of Teaching (Secondary) and its so interesting! So be prepared, in two years time (if I am still blogging) there will be another graduation post!

Sephora and Mecca Maxima Haul March 2016!

Hey Guys!

As you might have seen, I recently posted a Sephora & Mecca Maxima Wishlist! and this is the follow up post to that! I mentioned in that post that I would be in Sydney and was hopefully going to pick up some of those items! Well I’m here to report that I DID pick up some, while there were others that I did not! To repeat the same order I will start of with my Sephora haul and then move onto Mecca Maxima!

Here is an overview of all the items that I picked up! I am pretty proud of this haul as I was in and out in under 10 minutes! I didn’t get everything I wanted, because I honestly totally spaced even though I had a list! But thats alright.

First off is the Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Eyeshadow Palette which is honestly the main item that I was going in for. My sister has the original Tartlette palette and she LOVES it and was telling me I had to try it! I am still getting used to matte shadows so I figured this would be better for me as there are a couple of shimmery shades in this palette! I am super excited to try this and to learn new skills and branch out of my comfort zone with my makeup looks. (Edit, I’ve tried this and I love it already.)

Next is the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks in L.U.V and Bauhaus. I picked these because we are going into the cooler months in Australia (about time) and so I knew I would get a lot of use out of these! I picked up L.U.V. because I am drawn more towards the colour purple recently. I LOVE Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Blow Pony and Jeffree Star Cosmetics – I’m Royalty so I knew that I would love this shade! I have yet to try this on but I am super excited to! Bauhaus I picked up because I do enjoy wearing dark pinks, but I figured this would be a shade that I could get away with wearing at work and such. I have tried this on and really liked how it looked! After trying these two I know that I will be picking up more in the future!

I was super excited to finally be getting my hands on the Kat Von D Lock-it foundation because as I have mentioned I love full coverage foundation and that is exactly what this foundation is! I have already tested this a few times and I am in love with it. I am super excited as well because recently on Instagram Kat Von D announced that she would be releasing 13 new shades and one of them being white! This means that there is always a chance to get a closer colour match! I will be writing a review on this in the future I just know it! (new shades will be released around July.)

To be straight out honest I did not mean to pick up the Kat Von D Ink Liner in Trooper because I was meant to get the Tattoo Liner in Trooper! While I was in Sephora there were people restocking and they didn’t really move out of the way when I made my way over so yea, I grabbed the first one I saw with ‘Trooper’ written on it. This is a felt tip liner which is something I actually don’t like, I even tried using it and found it was scratch-y so yea. I might save this for other looks that might come in the future.

This was something that I picked up in the dreaded (and most exciting) isle before the cash register. This is the Tarte Smooth Operator Setting Powder and I picked this up because I have heard good things about this product! This only cost me $15 so I figured if I really didn’t like it I didn’t waste the money on a full size. I have only tried this once so I can’t comment on this just yet!

Next I was off to Mecca Maxima! (Not really I went here first but shhh) Again, I didn’t get everything on my list but I am not stressed by this. I picked up something I wasn’t expecting to, but I don’t mind!

Here is my small Mecca Maxima Haul! I was in and out of the shop in about 5 minutes and I was pretty proud of that effort! I am glad that I got my two main items ❤

The first item I’m going to talk about is the one I picked up on my way to the cash register and that is the Soap and Glory Hand Maid. I am a big supporter of using hand sanitiser before using your makeup or touching your face. So there is no such thing as too many hand sanitisers in my life. I picked this up because I know that I will one day get around to using it!

This was a product that I knew I would not be leaving Sydney without. The Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original has become my holy grail eyeshadow primer and I don’t think I could live without it anymore! I had a deluxe size that I had purchased while in America and I am just finishing it up now. There is sooooo much product in here so I know that I will get lots of use out of this! I have oily creasy eye lids that can be a real pain to put eyeshadow on. But with using this I can go all day without any problems and that is so important to me.

This is the last item from my haul and its almost one of the most important! The Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray is something I knew I would be getting because I wanted a setting spray that I was used to and knew would last me a long time! I have used this in the past and really liked it, so that is why I picked it up again! I must say though that I think there is something wrong with my spritzer as it doesn’t spray out evenly. So I will have to figure out a way to try and fix it, if you have any ideas, please let me know!

That’s it guys! They are all the items that I picked up while in Sydney. I would have probably picked up more if I had more time to look around but oh well! It was probably a good thing I didn’t otherwise I might of spent money I didn’t really have!

Is there any must haves that you think I need to try out? Please let me know in the comments!
