First Ever Dior Haul

Hey Everyone!

Because my birthday and Christmas are close to each other, I tend to collect a few gift cards. Normally I just buy something I have been lusting after, or make the cards work to get lots of little things. This time though, I decided to be a bit more adventurous. I wanted to get something that I would never even LOOK at if I did not have the gift cards, and that of course, is a high end brand like Dior. I have heard so many things about Dior that I knew I could not really make a bad choice.

While I knew I would not make a bad choice, I also knew that I did not want to spend too much, seeing as these are products that I normally do not even think about buying (Spoilers, I totally fail at this). I will admit that the woman at the counter sort of suckered me into getting more products, but I do not hold that against her because I regret nothing and she was the nicest sales assistant that I have ever come across!

Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer 002 ($95)

I don’t have many highlighters in my collection and so I decided to add another one! I also knew that picking up a highlighter would mean that I would have this in my collection for a long time! Which is always desired when you spend so much on a product. I swatched this and instantly fell in love! The powder is stupidly soft and leaves such a beautiful sheen to the skin. The Air Luminizers are not your ‘blinding, shine to the gods’ type of highlighter, which I am actually thankful for, as there are times where I don’t want something that in your face. One thing I have noticed though is that I will need to use a synthetic hair brush as my Nude by Nature brushes have a hard time picking up the product.

Dior Addict Lip Glow 006 ($49)

I had no intention of picking up a lip product, but I was convinced to do so to get the items you will see in the picture below. I have never tried a lip product as expensive as this before. But DAM! I put this on my lips for the first time today and OMG I get the why people love products like this. I have honestly never had something so nice on my lips. I could easily see myself getting the other two shades in this range. The colour you see is a subtle berry on the lips and I could not be happier with this shade. It is going to be perfect on days were I want a little colour on my lips. Thankfully, you don’t need a lot of this to get the pigment, here’s hoping the Lip Glow lasts me a long time!

Gift with Purchase (spend $120)

The reason I bought the lip product was to get this beautiful gift set. I did not plan to spend so much in my first shop, BUT I have no regrets as this gives me a chance to try more Dior products. I sadly wont be using the skin care products or the perfume for a while, as I plan to use them on my up-coming holiday. That red lipstick though, oooh boy I am excited to start using that! I am also in LOVE with the bag, my first every experience with a Dior bag. I had never even touched one, and now I can see why people love them. I get the Estee Lauder gift bags all the time, but this is hands down the nicest makeup bag I now own. I never want to lose this and I never want it to get dirty!

The woman at the counter let me know that these gift bags happen twice a year and are unadvertised, so do not be afraid to ask when they are having a gift with purchase. Because if you are new to Dior like I was, get a gift gives you more bang for your $$$.

I was so thankful to the sales assistant as she also gave myself and Pastels Sparkles a whole heap of perfume samples! So now I am truly set for skin care and perfumes while on holiday!

Please leave me a comment below on which high end brands you want to try! Or even which are your favourite products so I can keep an eye out in the future.

18 before 2018

Hey Everyone,

I mostly failed my 17 before 2017 and that was because I set the challenge to be too hard. While I didn’t hit pan or even come close to finishing some of those products I did finish others. But starting this challenge inspired me to continue and I have learnt from my mistakes. So this time I have given myself a whole year to finish products! Because of that, some of the products I list will be more general, because I am always trying to actually work through the products I have and find my holy grail!

Lip Balms

A continuing theme from for other project pan is to work on my lip balm collection. I am constantly trying to figure out how many I have and I am just going to settle on 18+ which is simply too many! The aim is to wittle that number down to around 5 or so. I have figured out which brands I am loving at the moment so I only want them floating around. Thankfully I use lip balm a lot at work so lets hope I can make a good dent in this collection!

As you can see I have a few, well, to me this is a few and it makes me a little unsettled to see all of these sitting on top of my vanity. So I have made it my mission to use up most of these! At the moment I only really want to keep the Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation and re-purchase the Kat Von D Lock It Foundation. But that opinion might change throughout the year. For work I am wearing the NARS All Day Luminous foundation because I was sucked in with the YouTube hype and actually really dislike this foundation.

Hand Cream

Ah, hand cream, one of the many products that I keep buying thinking I will actually get into the habit of using it. Well, this year has to be the year, because the last thing I want is to see all those products going off in my cupboard. Hopefully this hand cream, along with many others, will be used up by the end of the year!

I keep telling myself, no more mascara, you already have enough and I think this is the proof that I need that I do indeed have to many just sitting about. All of these are just my unopened mascaras. So clearly I am set for the year. Hopefully most of these will go throughout the year, whether because I loved them or simply hated them, we will find out!

Jeffree Star Cosmetics – Redrum

Ah, my beautiful Redrum from Jeffree Star, there is nothing wrong with this lipstick, I just feel that I should start working on this as it’s from the original release. I have also missed wearing red! Hopefully wearing Redrum will get my back into the swing of wearing a red. I am also interested to see how long this will actually take to use up, I haven’t worn it many times, that I remember, so I am looking forward to seeing when exactly I finish it.

Sample Lip Glosses

I did not realise how many sample lip glosses I had! As with the general theme, I want to use them up. I have never used up a lipgloss before so I am interested to see how this goes! Also interesting to note that they are nearly all the same colour haha!

Sample Eyeshadows – Femme Fatale Cosmetics – Fire Opal & Secret Shiney

One of the true challenges for this project pan. I want to work through some pigments. I know there isn’t much in these samples, but they are also not colours that I wear everyday. I hope to be able to work through these, and maybe move onto other shadows throughout the year. I love my Femme Fatale pigments and so I am interested to see what looks I can create with these shadows.

Rimmel London Blush in Pink Rose.

Probably an impossible feat, but I am going to try! I only want to hit pan on this product, if I get any hints of silver I will be immensely proud of myself. Once I had decided to start this project pan, I took this out and put it on top of my vanity, so I have been using it for a week already. Fingers crossed I can hit pan, these blushes are pigmented and beautiful!

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Still at it with this bad boy, I have nothing against this palette, I will probably repurchase it because I enjoy the shadows so much. I just want to work through more of it. The image above is older, as I have also hit pan on the shade Naked, due to using it as a transition shade for work. By the end of the year I want to have used more of the darker shadows in the palette. If not, I don’t really know what I will do with the palette, but I am sure I will think of something!

Models Prefer NUDE Palette

To not limit myself to mostly one palette throughout the year, I have also decided to add in this palette. It has received no love even though I have heard only good things about it! My main goal with this palette is to actually get some good use out of it. I already know which shades will get the most love, which is exciting in its own right!

Lipsticks, Lip Liner and Eyeliner

I unashamedly took the idea to track these products in my Bullet Journal from Pastel Sparkles (her project pan linked). I love this idea and I feel it is a lot easier to track and also more encouraging when you can actually mark and see how much you have used! I also like how the products have marked my page, they brings some colour to the layout! I am most excited about finishing Girl About Town by MAC, simply because it would be the first lipstick I ever finished, and it is also the first MAC lipstick I ever bought.

Kat Von D Ink Liner – Trooper

This poor sod makes a return. A product that I did not intend to pick up but for the life of me I am determined to use. I HATE using this on my eye, I don’t know how I used to love felt tip liners, but oh well. I mostly plan to use this for makeup looks that I want to do. It will be interesting to see how this lasts! But I think if by the end of the year it still isn’t finished. I will probably just declutter it, as I simply don’t love it as much as my other liners.

Finally, that is my 18 before 2018. I feel confident with most of these products, and because I have given myself just under year to complete this challenge, I know I will be able to work through most of them. If by the end of the year, I have only finished 10 products, that is more then OK! Because it is 10 products that are no longer floating around in my collection.

In regards to keeping myself accountable and you updated on my progress, I will most likely only post once a month, otherwise you will get sick of hearing about my project! But make sure to keep an eye out on my Instagram as I am sure that I will get excited and post some progress shots there.

17 Project Pan Before 2017

~*~*~ Please check out my New Project Pan!! ~*~*~

Hey Everyone!

As mentioned in this post, I am making a real effort to use my current products, but I want to try and focus on a few products to really monitor my progress. I need to motivate myself to work through what I have and it is always nice to see progress. I have also been really enjoying Pastel Sparkles Project Pan posts, so that is also a motivator to do this. Also strolling through the internet, I saw someone had made a post with a similar title, so why not!

I really want try and have a bit variety, that way I can really work through everything and not feel stuck on one type of product. Also if I use up a product I will replace it with another that is similar, so if I use up a face powder, I’ll put another one in! At the end I will make a total tally which should be exciting.

After going through my collection I have come to the conclusion that I will really be focusing on lip and ‘base’ products, because I am in no way going to put myself through the pain of trying to use up an eyeshadow or blush (I have learnt from you Sarah). This doesn’t bother me though, as there are some items in my collection that really do need to be used up, and now I’m aware of them! So onwards to my 17 items.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
I have had this in my collection for a long time and I just don’t love it like I love some of my other foundations. I find that this is just SO watery and I hate that, recently though while collecting my Beauty Loop box, the assistant told me of a different way of applying it, so I shall see how I go! I know at the moment the bottle doesn’t show how much is left, but there is about 2/3 left to go.

Estee Lauder Perfume – Beautiful
I have had this for a while, and I find that it just doesn’t last on me. That doesn’t change how much I love this scent though, I just feel like it is finally time that I finish it and get it out of my collection. There really isn’t much left so fingers crossed I can finish it! I am just going to say now that I am not suddenly going to start wearing this everyday, how I smell is SO important to me for many different reasons. So I will use this but not everyday!

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup – 1N1 ECRU 12
Another product that I have just had for ages, in this photo you can sort of see a dip in the product. I have been using this more recently anyway as I have run out of my loose powders, so I am glad that I am already used to the idea of using this. I don’t think this will be hard to use up, but I will be glad when I am finally finished.

MAC Viva Glam Lipstick – Miley Cyrus (Amplified)
I bought this when it came out and I just haven’t used it! I miss wearing such bold colours, and seeing as we are coming into Spring I should have a lot of chances to wear this. This is almost brand new, and I could probably sell it, but I want to try and work through it. Lets see how I go!

MAC Lipstick –  Girl About Town (Amplified)
One of the first MAC lipsticks I ever bought and I really do love it, its just it’s getting old and I should really finish it and get a new one! I am pretty sure I have 6 items for back-to-mac but adding more wont hurt! I will be getting another one of this shade once I’m finished I’m sure of it.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick – Rose Tea (Creme)
This is another lipstick that is pretty much brand new, but it is a nice Spring nude so I am sure I will get a lot of love out of this, I tend to favour my Jeffree Star Lippies or my MAC ones, so I really want to use this! One thing that always annoys me though is how strong of a smell these have. It’s not a bad smell, just really strong, thankfully it doesn’t last on the lips.

Buxom Lip Gloss – Zoe
I have used this once since I bought this, so I need to use it up. I will not lie, I bought it because it has my name on it.

Urban Decay Primer Potion – Original
This is obviously not in its original packaging. I got the bigger size because I thought why not, not realising that it had an applicator that I really don’t like. I have had this for a while and simply want to use it up. I did not realise how much was left in this! I think this is going to take longer then I first thought to finish, because of how much is there. Don’t forget to cut open the packaging guys!

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Sample Lipstick – Make Your Move
I don’t remember when I got this, I think it was in a previous Beauty Loop box, I have nothing against this lipstick, I just want to use it up! It is so small, I shouldn’t have any problems finishing this. I won’t lie, this is mildly in here just so I can at least 100% pat myself on the back for finishing SOMETHING.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil – Rikugien
My sister got this when we went to Sephora in America and signed up for the loyalty system. She isn’t a fan on nude shades so I was lucky enough to get it! I really don’t give my lip pencils much love and so I want to try and do that, so I thought starting with a sample would be a good idea.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Lipstick – 340 Envious
I bought this around the time these lipsticks were getting lots of hype. I paid $15AUD just for this little guy! Crazy! But I got it because I wanted to try a sample before committing to the full size which was around $55 at the time. This is a beautiful red lipstick so I am sure I will have no problems using it up. I just wanted to give myself a bit more colour choice throughout this project.

Max Factor Lip Liner – 16 Rose
I don’t know how long I have had this, but it is still good to use and a beautiful colour! I simply don’t give enough love to my lip liners and so I want to change that. I am hoping I will get lots of use out of this and will get into the habit of using lip liners.

Face of Australia Lip Definer – Sugar Rose
Well I’m kind of glad I hadn’t used too much of this else I would have no idea what the shade name was! I have used this recently and found I loved pairing this with one of my other lip glosses so that is a win. Another easy shade to wear, I might even repurchase this and other shades if I like the formula.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohn Kajel – 005 Nude
Pretty sure I bought this at one of Priceline’s famous cosmetics sales. I wanted to use it for work and daily life instead of black all the time. I sort of fell off that and so I want to get back into it! I figured this shouldn’t be too hard to use and will let me know if I want to get this again or try a different brand.

Kat Von D Ink Liner – Trooper
A sad story behind  this liner. I never meant to pick it up, I was meant to get the Tattoo Liner, so I want to try and love this for what it is! You might be wondering why it is in this photo, well, its going to be my ‘control’ against the other pencils. Thankfully this wont shrink and so I will be able to see my progress.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
This is the one product I do not aim to COMPLETELY finish up, I want to try and hit pan on this as much as possible! I am even thinking of doing a ‘Naked November’ series where every makeup look I create in November I have to use this palette. That will both help me use it up and challenge myself to be more creative. I have already hit pan on a couple of shades and close to some others. While the darker shades I have barely touched which is something I want to change. Might have picked a bad time seeing as we are coming into warmer weather, but I will make it work!

Last but not least, Lip Balms
I am going to be broad on this, I will focus on mostly one at a time, but I SERIOUSLY need to cull down my lip balm collection, I have at least 5 hidden away that haven’t even been open and I feel a bit ridiculous because of that. I don’t know at this point how many I want to get down to, as I generally have a few floating around, but having 10+ lip balms is just too much! So I will show which one I am working in my next post and we shall see how we go.

That’s it! My 17 Project Pan before 2017. I am really looking forward to this, finishing up products is always a great experience because it means you actually used the product to the end. I am sure there are some products that I am just going to get frustrated over but oh well! When I do I will decide what to do from there.

If you are doing a Project Pan of any kind I would love to see it!

Let’s hang out on:

I hope to see you next time!

Empties #1!

Hey Guys!

I don’t even remember the last time I did one of these, and my box was in need of a clean out so here we go! Be prepared there is a lot, but I have taken photos in a more bulk style so that way this post shouldn’t be super long.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser is the cleanser I have been using in the shower for ages, I honestly haven’t used all of this up but I seriously just wanted to try something else. There is nothing wrong with this product and I did like it. As you can see I did get it on sale, I would probably get it again if it was on sale.

LUSH Rose Jam, I think I got this for Christmas and had a jolly old time using this up! I like how this smelted, but I generally don’t use LUSH products anymore. If I did get this again though I would still use and love it!

Body Shop Body Scrub, I got this while it was on sale because I love using body scrubs in the shower (Annoying Legs and Shaving I explain why in this post) I enjoyed the smell of this and how soft it left my skin afterwards. I was a little worried though the first few times I used this as it did change the colour of my skin while I was scrubbing. Thankfully it didn’t stain me, but it is something to keep in mind.

Anatomical The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub, is an inexpensive body scrub which I love to use in the shower because you don’t need a lot of it and it’s in a squeezy bottle! I love to take this travelling because you can, in a pinch, use this as your soap for the day and still come out smelling amazing! This isn’t a super abrasive scrub and I really need to go get some more!

Estee Lauder Day Wear Moisturiser is my daily moisturiser that I have been using for years. I am honestly always nervous to move away from this as I know my skin loves this and never acts up from it. It does have a strong smell if you aren’t used to it. I will always re-purchase this because it’s a staple in my life.

Glam Glow Mud Mask I really enjoyed using this and I do want to pick it up again. I remembered it did have a strong-ish smell but it didn’t really bother me. There were also bits of sea weed? I’m not sure but it wasn’t something I was expecting to see them. I really liked this though! The price point does make it hard to justify re-purchasing though.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eyes, these aren’t full sizes, in fact I have never had to pay for this product and I have used it for years. These are deluxe samples you get when you pay for the gifts with purchases. I enjoy using this and I do think that it does help. But then, like I said I’ve been using it for so long I don’t really notice anymore haha.

M.A.C. Gently Off Eye Makeup Remover is something I use everything to help take off my liquid lipsticks and eyeshadow and mascara. I know there are cheaper alternatives out there but this is a product that I really enjoy using because it works super quick and easy. I also like getting this because MAC do have a recycling program, so I know that these wont contribute to landfill.

M.A.C. Brush Cleanser I use this to spot clean my brushes after doing my makeup! I really like using this as its quick and simply and doesn’t leave an oder on my brushes.

Neutrogena Alcohol Free Toner I think this would have to be my favourite toner that I have so far tried, its easy to use and it doesn’t burn my skin or affect it in anyway which I’m thankful for. This is a product that is easy to get and also goes on sale often!

Estee Lauder Mirco Essence I don’t really remember what using this was like, but I do remember that I did enjoy using this! I got this sample either with gift with purchase or it was just gifted to me to try. I know that I would not spend the money on it though as I have other products that I enjoy using.

Loreal Infallible 24H-Matte is a product that I have a huge place in my heart for, I wrote this review on this product and I do love it. I have found now though that this shade is too dark for me. Sadly as well this is the lightest shade that I can get here in Australia. So I will have to wait and see if I tan up before I can wear this again. Either way though, an amazing foundation and worth the money! (I would always wait for a sale though).

Loreal Infallible Mattifying Base is the primer that I use every day! This took sooo long to use up which too me is a great sign for a product. I really like how this product feels on my skin and so I continue to use it and love it! I am now on my second tube and loving it!

Makeup For Ever Mist & Fix is my hands down favourite setting spray. I am so sad that I have ran out of this and that it is so hard to get in Australia! I do have others that I like but this is still my favourite. Hopefully Sephora will get their online stock in order so that I can get my hands on it again!

Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray is the setting spray I tried before the Mist & Fix and I really enjoyed using this! It is an amazing setting spray that works super well! I am glad that you can get this in a smaller size so that you can try it, travel with it and not commit to the giant size.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara I used to LOVE this mascara… in the sample size. I do still like using this mascara, but I much prefer using it in the sample size because there is less product in the tube. As I said I did like this mascara but I found that unless I spent the time to wipe off all the extra product every time then it would gunk on my lashes. So overall I do like this mascara, just not in the full size.

M.A.C. Lipstick in Ruby Woo I think is the first MAC lipstick that I ever bought. I kind of regret buying this because it is so DRYING. I have not picked up this lipstick for years, so my plan is the back-to-mac this and get something else. If you figured out how to make this work congratulations! But I have simply moved on to more user friendly red lipsticks.

Maybelline New York Baby Lips is a product that I am so proud of myself for using up! How often does someone go through a lip product? Even more so when it’s a lipbalm, something we always lose before we finish it. This isn’t my favourite Baby Lips flavour, but I do still like it a lot, I am pretty sure I have a backup so I will simply start working through that next!

Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara is my favourite mascara at the moment and I am sad that I ran out of it. I find that this gives me amazing volume and length. I know that some people don’t like this mascara and that is fair enough. But this is my favourite and I can’t wait to work through some of my other mascaras so I can get back to using this!

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper is a product that I used on and off and I found that I would always come back to it because it is an amazing liner. It is easy to use and lasts all day without an issue. I always reach for this if I don’t know hat liner I want to use for that day. It’s super black and I have never had this transfer, it can even be a little difficult to take off bur I don’t mind this as it just goes to show how well it can last on your eyes. The only thing that could be considered a downer would be that it can be hard to make a really thin line. As you can also see from this photo the silver writing doesn’t last too well if you’re using it daily. This didn’t bother me but after a while it doesn’t look as pretty as when you first bought it. Other then that, this is hands down my favourite liner.

NARS Radient Creamy Concealer in Vanilla is something I have gone through many times  and is a product that I do love using. I do find that that this still creases on me. I have yet to find a concealer that doesn’t crease, but the coverage it gives me is what I’m mainly chasing. I have really dark under eyes and this does a great job of covering them up without looking silly. Though with the price of NARS products going up at Mecca, I think I might have to try and find something else to use. Either way though, this is a great concealer and this will always have a place in my heart.

Wow! I am sorry just such a long post! But as you can see it was a little over due, hopefully I won’t leave it so long before the next one. Let me know if there is anything you would like me to review in the future.

Shanghai Lil & The Scarlet Fez

Hey Guys!

Today I am going to be talking about a brand that was made it our own backyard of Adelaide! I had the pleasure of meeting Mark who is the owner of this brand at the Bloggers United AU Adelaide Event! Shanghai Lil was one of my favourite presenters and I didn’t wait long before I went out and got more of their products! One of my favourite things about this brand is the packaging.

This is the lip balm that I received from the BU event. I was so happy to see one of the lip balms in the bag! I have a huge love for lip balms and I am always trying to find my next favourite. As you can see the flavour of lip balm that I got was Raspberry Royale~* I have been using this a lot and I love the smell of it. I didn’t know if I truly would because I am not a huge fan of Raspberries but this is amazing and I am so glad that I have this.

Because I loved the original lip balm that I got so much I went and got more! I had originally smelt Jersey Caramel at the event and I knew that I needed it in my life. I LOVE the smell of this lip balm. I know that when I run out I will be getting another one. The second one I got was Caramelised Fig, I didn’t originally have the intention of getting this one but once I smelt it in store I knew that I needed it as a part of my collection. I haven’t used this one much but I know that I will get around to using it.

The last two things that I picked up were soaps. I love collecting and using blocks of soap so once I smelt these I knew that I had to get some. There was on in particular that I wanted to get but I don’t remember what it was called. I know it wasn’t one of the ones I picked up but I know I will get around to finding it again the future. There is a theme with the two soaps that I picked up and that is the scent of Lavender. The two that I picked up were Classic Lavender & Citrus and Bracing Lavender and Rosemary. I love lavender scented things and I am seriously looking forward to using these.

When I actually getting around to opening them I will make sure I take a photo! I would have opened them but that would have ruined the packaging and seeing as I am not using them straight away I am going to wait. But I do remember the soaps looking just as pretty as the packaging so I can’t wait to see what they look like inside!

I think the next thing I want to try is their mists. Have you tried any of their products? Let me know what I should get in my next shop.

If you guys want to check out other products created by Shanghai Lil or even want to purchase the items that I have talked about in this post. Head on over to: Shanghai Lil’s Website!

Bloggers United AU Adelaide Event!

Hey Guys!

So on the 28th of Feb, I was lucky enough to go to the first Bloggers United Adelaide Event! I was super excited and thankful that this opportunity came up and that I got to go. The day was all about meeting fellow Bloggers and getting to talk to amazing Companies about their different products.

Now sit back and get comfy because this is probably going to be a long post!

First off a HUGE thank you to the beautiful people who organised this event. Thank you to the Adelaide Reps Kate from Seduced By Beauty and Nici from Beauty and Food. These girls truly are amazing for putting together such an amazing day. Thank you again and I can’t wait to see what you two get up to in the future for us Adelaide girls!

I want to make a quick note before I really dive into this post. Most of the photos that will be used in this post were taken by the professional photographer of the day Heidi from Heidi Who Photos. Thank you so much for letting us bloggers use the photos that you took as we were all just too busy looking at all the goodies presented to us!

The day started at around 12:30pm and as you can see there were a fair few of us there! This photo shows just how much effort went into the event because featured here are all of the bloggers who attended as well as the brands who came and spoke to us throughout the day. It was super exciting to see so many Adelaide people and I was so happy to be a part of  this!

To start off the event we were all gathered together and given a quick photography session from Heidi from Heidi Who Photos. Something that I am super thankful for and I have taken many of the tips she suggested and am implementing them! So hopefully you will start to notice that in my future posts! This was super informative and I am glad we started off the day with this session because it did influence how I took photos throughout the day! Sadly though I didn’t get to listen to the whole speech as I over heated 😦 Thankfully though I lasted through most of it and learnt a lot!

After the first session we were broken up into groups of 2 – 3 and sent on a little treasure hunt with maps that we had found in a tote bag which we had been given! This meant the everyone throughout the day had a slightly different experience as we were all in different groups! I started off my adventure with Vani-T.

Vani-T is an Australian Brand that creates Tanning products as well as Beauty products and is a brand that has sponsored some pretty famous international events! Which is amazing for an Australian brand! I had heard of this band before today but honestly didn’t realise they were Australian so that is super exciting! In the goodie bag above we received some tanning products and also 3 items of makeup! I sadly won’t use the tanning products, so I have given these to my sister with strict instructions to tell me what she thinks so I can still write a review! The beauty products we received were a lipgloss, lipstick (which has BEAUTIFUL packaging) and an eyeshadow pigment. An important thing to remember with the makeup line is they are all mineral makeup! On display there was a beautiful red lipstick, which I honestly think I will have to pick up because I can never go past a beautiful bold red lipstick.

Next up was Natralus Australia, who are an Australian Brand! (sensing a theme? 🙂 hehe) Recently they just became available in Woolworths which is amazing and already makes their products much more easily attainable. This brand focuses on making Paw Paw based products which is amazing! They also have a product that is a hand cream that acts like a glove on your hand! The presenter was telling us some crazy unreal stories about what it can protect your hands from! This brand was SUPER gracious in what they let us try. These even gave us the full range of their brand new lip balms! I have tried one already and they are lovely!

Next up was Yo Get It and oh my goodness guys this could not have been better timed in my version of the treasure hunt. This is a healthy snack alternative and is based off of a Brazilian dish! Guys this was truly amazing and I can’t wait until the next time I’m in Marion Shopping centre to get one of these. The yoghurt (which you can’t see) is a lovely purple colour and the topping (which you can see) just add the perfect texture to the snack. One thing I have to say is though, these aren’t full sizes so I honestly don’t know if I could finish one. As the ones we received on the day were the perfect size leaving me satisfied until lunch!

After the perfect snack we learnt about the brand Dr. Hauschka (which I sadly can’t pronounce) this brand was focused on bringing skin care back a few steps to make it more simple and user friendly. The Lady we spoke to explained that they were more concerned about trying to help their customers than make a sale, and to domonstrate that she explained how they would give out samples and let the customer have a good try before they come back to buy! Which is incredible of a brand to do and it was amazing to hear. These were the deluxe samples that we received, there were also sachet samples which came with their own pamphlets explaining exactly what the product does!

Then we moved on to hear from Loreal Professional and this was a brand I felt like I learnt a lot from! Not just about hair care, but even just tips in general towards my own blog! Nikita is the gentleman you see in the centre of the photo and he explained all about the amazing products and brands that we would be receive in our goodie bag. There is a spray from Pureology that is designed to help prolong coloured hair! And seeing as I have deep purple in my hair I was super excited about this product! Nikita also re-iterated to importance of taking good photos. He explained that in an upcoming campaign they will be hiring bloggers to advertise the product! He explained that there would be a male and female bloggers and that while picking the male blogger they found out that one of them was using an iPhone to take their photos. He wasn’t denying that an iPhone can take good photos, he just explained that the reason they weren’t picked is because the company was concerned about the quality of the photos once blown up to a poster size. This inspired me to get back into using my camera to take my blog/ Instagram photos and I’m so thankful that Nikita took the time to tell us something so important!

Just before lunch my little group got to sit out on the beautiful balcony and talk to the beautiful lady’s from REB Cosmetics. The Lady you see on the left is actually the founder of the brand which is super exciting! REB is a South Australian Brand and is produced in Adelaide which is awesome! REB is a mineral brand and are still expanding their range, they have just brought out magnetic eyeshadow palettes which is super exciting! This brand very kindly gave us an eyeshadow each (colour of our choosing) and I am super excited to try mine! I have been hearing amazing things so fingers crossed I get the same result!

LUNCH TIME~! Half way through the event we were allowed to have a little rest and grab something to eat! Oporto and Sumo Salad were kind enough to provide some food for all us hungry bloggers to eat! My lunch came from Oporto and it was from their new menu! Sadly, while I did ultimately enjoy my lunch, it did get a bit too spicy for me and resulted in me getting lipstick on my chin because I was eating a burrito. That aside lunch was good and gave us all some much needed energy to make it through the rest of the day!

During lunch a group of us decided to sit on the grass and it was so lovely sitting near the ocean and just talking in a big group! It was a little windy as you can see, which did result in a bit of hair in lipstick but it was totally worth it! I really love this photo and am so thankful that Heidi took the time to capture this moment!

After lunch we were straight back at it! And now my little group was downstairs and we got to talk to the second lot of brands! To start off with we talked to the brand Weleda, who are a brand that is almost 100 years old! Weleda are a company that is conscious of their impact on the environment and so plant fields to get the ingredients they need. Through this they are also employing famers and creating new jobs around the world which is fantastic! One of their products, which is called Skin Food is celebrating it’s 90th Birthday which is crazy! We were told the the recipe for that product hasn’t changed AT ALL in that time which just goes to show that you don’t need to mess with a good product! We were lucky enough to receive a full size Skin Food and one of the Body Washes you see pictured above!

Then we moved on to this brand which has some of the most beautiful packaging that I have ever seen! This is Kismet Jardin and they are a skin care and perfume brand who are also Australian! I still can’t get over how beautiful their packaging looks! We got to test some of the products on our skin and it felt sooo lovely! We got a little box with 1 full size product and two samples, I have already worn the perfume once and it lasted super well!

This was a brand I was excited to hear about because my friends had already hyped them up for me! This is an Australian Hair Care company called Davroe, and now that I’ve heard of them, I keep hearing about them! So that is a good sign! The lady’s we talked to were super lovely and were obviously super enthusiastic about their brand which was amazing! I feel like we didn’t truly get enough time to talk to the beautiful people behind this brand but hopefully there might be a next time! This is my own photo of the goodies that we received! I honestly don’t know what to say other than Thank You so much! I hope this gets me more enthusiastic about looking after my hair and supporting an Aussie Company!

From the whole day I think this Company was my favourite. Shanghai Lil and The Scarlet Fez or simply Shanghai Lil for short. This is an Adelaide Company where all of the products are hand made with natural and organic ingredients. This is also a Vegan brand which is super exciting for Vegans! This company sells a full range of products such as soaps, mists, lip balms (photo above) and perfume. In our goodies bags we received a lip balm and the one I received is Raspberry Royale (bottom right) and I LOVE it, so I have (unashamedly) already gone out to buy more from the brand. If you live in Adelaide, Shanghai Lil is available at Have You Met Charlie? In Regent Arcade, Rundle Mall.

Second to last for my little group was the company Runway Room which I had heard a LOT of good things about from my two besties, so I was super excited to be able to meet the lovely lady they had told me about and touch all the makeup! This is a company that started in Melbourne but is making head way in Adelaide too! It was so lovely to be able to see this brand and play around with the cosmetics they have available! We were lucky enough to be able to pick either a lip gloss, lipstick or a lip pencil. I chose a lip pencil in a berry colour because we are coming into the cooler months so I know I will get lots of use out of it! I did feel a little bad for Runway Room at the end of the day though (which is when my group arrived) because the room she was in was like a sauna! The poor makeup was having a bit of a hard time and so was she. She still looked beautiful though and the products weren’t too heat damaged I hope! One more thing I want to say is I LOVE the colour scheme, though it can sometimes play with my eyes haha!

The last company for the day was a beautiful looking brand called Enbacci. This brand focuses on making a skin care range that is suitable for all skin times, but mainly focused on sensitive skin. This is because the founders mother has sensitive skin and she wanted to create a range that her mum could use! Which is so sweet and amazing! The products in the photo above are interesting in that they have Grape Stem cells as an ingredient! It was interesting to listen to all she had to say and I am super excited to try the samples we received. In the samples there is a face scrub which I think will be amazing after a heavy makeup day! This is also one of the brands that I think I will be reviewing first! So get ready!

The day still wasn’t over even after so many amazing chats to companies, we headed over to a lounge room and got comfy as we got the chance to listen to three bloggers bring some reality back into the world of blogging. I found this super helpful as someone who is still very new and growing in the blogging world. We heard from Jenni from Styling Curvy and she explained to us all how we need to respect ourselves in all forms of blogging. If we get the chance to work with companies remember all the work that we have put into our blogs and communities. And also a big point, nothing is free! We all put so much work into our blogs that if we are lucky enough to be sent something, its not free because with that product will come exceptions and maybe even sponsorships.

The last presentation we had was from Hayley and Lauren from Adelady. Their key message was to remember that bad things will happen and that blogging can be a happy place when these things happen. But to also remember that your blog isn’t everything and if you need time to deal with life that’s totally ok! Remember to have fun and everything will work out! There were a few tears shed while these beautiful lady’s talked to us as we understood and sympathised with what was happening in the world around us. Thank you for being so honest with us about the world of blogging and what true hardships it can bring! Remember lady’s you can’t eat makeup!

Even after these lovely lady’s had finished the day was still not over! We still had the last of our goodie bags to collect. These mainly consisted of items from brands that hadn’t been able to make it throughout the day, or brands who had been kind enough to leave their goodie bags until the end so we weren’t walking around with them!

Here is a rough overview of all the goodies we received from the companies that spoke to us throughout the day! As you can imagine I’m a little overwhelmed with the generosity of the brands in giving us so many goodies to try. I almost don’t know where to start and its a bit frightening! But that being said I am super excited for the posts that I can write in the future and the potential holy grails that might pop up through all the experimentation! This isn’t even all the products we received, there were two other bags FULL of products. One brand (who sadly couldn’t attended the event) were kind enough to give us their ENTIRE skin care range. Again, I’m blown away from the generosity of the companies who took the time to talk to us Adelaide Bloggers.

Here is my beautiful friend Sarah from Pastel Sparkles showing off all the goodie bags that we got! (She also wrote a post on the day which you should check out as we had different treasure hunt adventures!)

I would also love to mention Ovi Hydration, who was one of the brands who supplied us all with some drinks for the day! I have had their drinks in the past and the Berry flavour is hands down my favourite and I may have drank two or three bottles on the day and snuck a couple home as well.

Overall the day was a great and I am so thankful that I had the chance to attend this event! I have met so many Adelaide bloggers and I feel so much more like I’m apart of a community and I love it. Thank you again Bloggers United AU for hosting and organising such an AMAZING event and I truly cannot wait to see what you beautiful lady’s produce in the future. Thank you as well to Seawall Appartments for hosting the event! The weather was beautiful and the location just made the event all the more special.

I hope you are looking forward to seeing some exciting Australian brand based posts in the future, because I know I am excited to write them and support them!

Let me know if there is anything you want me to review first and I will get right on it!
