Happy Board

Hey Everyone,

Recently I have found that I have been in serious need of a constant pick-me-up in my life. Of course, after looking around the internet I stumbled upon the the brilliant idea of a Happy/ Memory board.

IMG_2474

First off, this board is obviously going to be targeted towards me and my needs, so what you need will be different to what I have. Overall, the idea is to put pictures and other things that cheer you up or bring back happy memories. This image just shows some of the things that I will be putting on my board! Pictures, art, post cards and prints! Plus of course, the tacks that I am using on my cork board!

IMG_2476

The board I have is huge, and I love it because some of the pieces I wanted to use are large, plus I want to use lots of photos!

IMG_2478

This was where I had started with my board as I had no idea what I was going to do with the bottom of the board. It was an area that wouldn’t been seen as often as this board lives on top of my tall boy, and in front of this is my perfumes. To try and save the board and to also make my life a little easier, I tucked a fair few of these pieces into the board itself.

For art that I want to keep looking pretty and un-punctured for future use, I washi taped cut up pieces of paper to the back. This both leaves the art undamaged and also stabiles the picture to the board. With nearly all the images I have used this and then hidden them behind other pieces.

Here is a perfect example!

I honestly thought that this project would take me a long time to do, but in reality, it took less than an hour. That time frame also includes me taking many breaks and getting distracted. Something I was constantly worried about was space, but in the end it didn’t matter because I can easily change images whenever I want.

In the end, I made 4 mini sections on my board, a photos section, art section, memory section and an anime section. Neither area has priority over another, they developed as I went along. The biggest area is the photo area, which I love because they are memories of precious people in my life.

IMG_2494

My photo area! All of these photos are from Printiki*, who kindly got into contact with me after seeing my photos of my trip to Japan. They are a printing site that offers many different styles and sizes. I chose the M size and retro style because I love the polaroid picture look. For your own board you can use which ever style of picture, after-all it’ll be your happy board and not mine! I chose pictures from the last 5 years, the earliest photos are from my 18th birthday. The most recent photo on here would be from my trip to Japan this year! All of the people in these photos are important to me, hence why they are on my board.

IMG_2496

The art section! Sadly I cannot say where the Miraculous Ladybug and Toothless print are from as they were a gift. The eyes are from a beautiful artist called Lighanes Clay Art from Etsy. These pieces are in the top right and I put them up here to save on space, these over hang the board while still having enough room to support them so they don’t flop over.

IMG_2493

Anime corner! Ah, I adore this section, even though there isn’t a lot here, it represents some of my favourite manga and anime. Sailor Moon is a huge part of my life, I have watched it since I was little and when in Japan I bought all of the 20th anniversary manga (which are beautiful btw). I knew I needed these reminders on my board, anime and manga shape my life and the messages they share are incredibly important to me. So here is my little nod towards that love.

Memory section, which is the overflow of all things in my life, post cards from friends and etsy shops, the card Caitlan gave me when she asked me to be a brides maid, and purikura from my many trips to Japan, which are the main source of photos of my international friends. Making this area look good was so important to me, as I knew this would be the least organised section of the board. I had a bit of a hard time deciding what exactly I wanted here, so a lot of the things that I had originally thought would be on here didn’t make the cut. Maybe in the future they will be switched out.

The moral of this post is that a Happy Board doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to function for what you need. I could have easily left out my anime section for this post, but I would have been lying to myself and to you if it wasn’t on there. My happy board lives in my room, I see it all the time and I love it. Since having it back I have noticed I am lot more comfortable in my room. The board is a constant reminder of how lucky I am to have had these experiences and to know all of these amazing people! A happy board doesn’t have to be this big either, it would simply be an A4 frame that you have filled with a collage, or even a post you have attached pictures to. Make the board to fit your needs!

If you love the look of the Printiki photos I recommend using them! I will be getting more photos from them in the future, the quality of the photos are amazing and they shipped super quickly. The service is reasonably priced and you can pull photos from multiple sources. I grabbed photos from my computer and directly from Facebook! If you are interested in using Printiki, I have a code that gives you FREE shipping, the code is 7HHEZZJJ. I do believe you can get your own code when you sign up as well!

If you have a board like this of your own I would love to see it! Be sure to tag me on social media.

17 Project Pan Before 2017

~*~*~ Please check out my New Project Pan!! ~*~*~

Hey Everyone!

As mentioned in this post, I am making a real effort to use my current products, but I want to try and focus on a few products to really monitor my progress. I need to motivate myself to work through what I have and it is always nice to see progress. I have also been really enjoying Pastel Sparkles Project Pan posts, so that is also a motivator to do this. Also strolling through the internet, I saw someone had made a post with a similar title, so why not!

I really want try and have a bit variety, that way I can really work through everything and not feel stuck on one type of product. Also if I use up a product I will replace it with another that is similar, so if I use up a face powder, I’ll put another one in! At the end I will make a total tally which should be exciting.

After going through my collection I have come to the conclusion that I will really be focusing on lip and ‘base’ products, because I am in no way going to put myself through the pain of trying to use up an eyeshadow or blush (I have learnt from you Sarah). This doesn’t bother me though, as there are some items in my collection that really do need to be used up, and now I’m aware of them! So onwards to my 17 items.

14643103_10210794106267935_173562849_n

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation
I have had this in my collection for a long time and I just don’t love it like I love some of my other foundations. I find that this is just SO watery and I hate that, recently though while collecting my Beauty Loop box, the assistant told me of a different way of applying it, so I shall see how I go! I know at the moment the bottle doesn’t show how much is left, but there is about 2/3 left to go.

Estee Lauder Perfume – Beautiful
I have had this for a while, and I find that it just doesn’t last on me. That doesn’t change how much I love this scent though, I just feel like it is finally time that I finish it and get it out of my collection. There really isn’t much left so fingers crossed I can finish it! I am just going to say now that I am not suddenly going to start wearing this everyday, how I smell is SO important to me for many different reasons. So I will use this but not everyday!

14741618_10210794106347937_960296611_n

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup – 1N1 ECRU 12
Another product that I have just had for ages, in this photo you can sort of see a dip in the product. I have been using this more recently anyway as I have run out of my loose powders, so I am glad that I am already used to the idea of using this. I don’t think this will be hard to use up, but I will be glad when I am finally finished.

14741700_10210794106627944_1843486862_n

MAC Viva Glam Lipstick – Miley Cyrus (Amplified)
I bought this when it came out and I just haven’t used it! I miss wearing such bold colours, and seeing as we are coming into Spring I should have a lot of chances to wear this. This is almost brand new, and I could probably sell it, but I want to try and work through it. Lets see how I go!

MAC Lipstick –  Girl About Town (Amplified)
One of the first MAC lipsticks I ever bought and I really do love it, its just it’s getting old and I should really finish it and get a new one! I am pretty sure I have 6 items for back-to-mac but adding more wont hurt! I will be getting another one of this shade once I’m finished I’m sure of it.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipstick – Rose Tea (Creme)
This is another lipstick that is pretty much brand new, but it is a nice Spring nude so I am sure I will get a lot of love out of this, I tend to favour my Jeffree Star Lippies or my MAC ones, so I really want to use this! One thing that always annoys me though is how strong of a smell these have. It’s not a bad smell, just really strong, thankfully it doesn’t last on the lips.

14794093_10210794106387938_1204698746_n

Buxom Lip Gloss – Zoe
I have used this once since I bought this, so I need to use it up. I will not lie, I bought it because it has my name on it.

14794186_10210794106587943_125864573_n

Urban Decay Primer Potion – Original
This is obviously not in its original packaging. I got the bigger size because I thought why not, not realising that it had an applicator that I really don’t like. I have had this for a while and simply want to use it up. I did not realise how much was left in this! I think this is going to take longer then I first thought to finish, because of how much is there. Don’t forget to cut open the packaging guys!

14797491_10210794106707946_2002326801_n

Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Sample Lipstick – Make Your Move
I don’t remember when I got this, I think it was in a previous Beauty Loop box, I have nothing against this lipstick, I just want to use it up! It is so small, I shouldn’t have any problems finishing this. I won’t lie, this is mildly in here just so I can at least 100% pat myself on the back for finishing SOMETHING.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil – Rikugien
My sister got this when we went to Sephora in America and signed up for the loyalty system. She isn’t a fan on nude shades so I was lucky enough to get it! I really don’t give my lip pencils much love and so I want to try and do that, so I thought starting with a sample would be a good idea.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Lipstick – 340 Envious
I bought this around the time these lipsticks were getting lots of hype. I paid $15AUD just for this little guy! Crazy! But I got it because I wanted to try a sample before committing to the full size which was around $55 at the time. This is a beautiful red lipstick so I am sure I will have no problems using it up. I just wanted to give myself a bit more colour choice throughout this project.

14797538_10210794106667945_1184888892_n

Max Factor Lip Liner – 16 Rose
I don’t know how long I have had this, but it is still good to use and a beautiful colour! I simply don’t give enough love to my lip liners and so I want to change that. I am hoping I will get lots of use out of this and will get into the habit of using lip liners.

Face of Australia Lip Definer – Sugar Rose
Well I’m kind of glad I hadn’t used too much of this else I would have no idea what the shade name was! I have used this recently and found I loved pairing this with one of my other lip glosses so that is a win. Another easy shade to wear, I might even repurchase this and other shades if I like the formula.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohn Kajel – 005 Nude
Pretty sure I bought this at one of Priceline’s famous cosmetics sales. I wanted to use it for work and daily life instead of black all the time. I sort of fell off that and so I want to get back into it! I figured this shouldn’t be too hard to use and will let me know if I want to get this again or try a different brand.

Kat Von D Ink Liner – Trooper
A sad story behind  this liner. I never meant to pick it up, I was meant to get the Tattoo Liner, so I want to try and love this for what it is! You might be wondering why it is in this photo, well, its going to be my ‘control’ against the other pencils. Thankfully this wont shrink and so I will be able to see my progress.

14801243_10210794106307936_1810303158_n

Urban Decay Naked Palette
This is the one product I do not aim to COMPLETELY finish up, I want to try and hit pan on this as much as possible! I am even thinking of doing a ‘Naked November’ series where every makeup look I create in November I have to use this palette. That will both help me use it up and challenge myself to be more creative. I have already hit pan on a couple of shades and close to some others. While the darker shades I have barely touched which is something I want to change. Might have picked a bad time seeing as we are coming into warmer weather, but I will make it work!

Last but not least, Lip Balms
I am going to be broad on this, I will focus on mostly one at a time, but I SERIOUSLY need to cull down my lip balm collection, I have at least 5 hidden away that haven’t even been open and I feel a bit ridiculous because of that. I don’t know at this point how many I want to get down to, as I generally have a few floating around, but having 10+ lip balms is just too much! So I will show which one I am working in my next post and we shall see how we go.

That’s it! My 17 Project Pan before 2017. I am really looking forward to this, finishing up products is always a great experience because it means you actually used the product to the end. I am sure there are some products that I am just going to get frustrated over but oh well! When I do I will decide what to do from there.

If you are doing a Project Pan of any kind I would love to see it!

Shanghai Lil and The Scarlet Fez Soap Review!

Hey Everyone!

It sure has been a while since I talked about this amazing brand. I have since had the chance to start using these beautiful soaps! I collect soaps, so that is why it has taken me so long to getting around to these, but here I am so lets get into it.

My first impression on this amazing brand can be found here.

IMG_1447

At the moment these are still the only two soaps that I own from Shanghai Lil but I will, without a doubt, be getting more the next time I go shopping. I am sorry but I haven’t taken photos of the soap, so please take my word for it that they are beautiful.

I have now used soap in the scent Riviera Escapade which is described as a Classic Lavender & Citrus scent, I can honestly say that I have never smelt a soap before that has calmed me down in the way this soap has. When I first smelt it, I had been a bit stressed about everyone, after taking a whiff of this I calm right down. Straight away this soap was a winner in my books, from there I knew without a doubt that I would love this soap throughout its use. Of course, I was right, I have almost used this up and I seriously need another one.

I am currently using Winter field which has a Bracing Lavender & Rosemary scent and I find that I am not in love with the scent as much as my first one. This doesn’t mean that I don’t like it though, it’s just when I shop next I will repurchase the first one instead. It has been good trying this one because I had forgotten what it was like when I first opened the packaging! These soaps are amazing the whole way through but you do have to make sure that you keep the soap wet otherwise it can drag/ stick to your skin a little. Nothing serious but something to keep in mind!

Although I love the scent of these soaps, it is not actually my favourite aspect, my favourite part is how much it lathers when I use it. For me, this lathers perfectly, its not too much that I can’t see my skin through it, but it is enough, that when I shave, I know exactly where I have been. When the soap is nearly finished, I have found that it holds its integrity  pretty well. By this I mean that even though the soap is almost non-existant, it is still relatively easy to use and get a really nice lather. I have had other soaps in the past where once it got to a certain size it was just not worth my time.

Shanghai Lil’s Cold Pressed Soaps are honestly some of the bests soaps I have used in a long time. I cannot recommend their soaps enough. When I am shopping next I will make sure to try and step out of my Lavender zone. I am hoping that the others are just as good as the first ones I have tried!

What have you tired from Shanghai Lil? Let me know below!

I would love to see you again, so lets hang out on:

Chloe Jane Candle Co. Haul!

Hey Everyone!

Today I have a candle post for you all, it is well and truly winter now in Australia, so I have been cracking out all the candles! I am also always on the hunt for good candles. I preferably like to get indie brand candles because I want to support those trying to build their business!

Recently, Chloe Jane Candle Co. had a sale so I jumped right on it! Chloe Jane Candle Co is an Adelaide based company! Right away I knew I had to get on board and try some of these awesome candles!

IMG_2127

These were the two scents that I picked up! I went with a trusty favourite Green Tea & Lemongrass and thought I would give Strawberries & Moscato a try because, why not?

I am loving the cute little inspiration quote on this card! It was unexpected but an amazing touch. On the back of the card are care instructions, for example burn time and preferred wick length.

IMG_2133

I have yet to burn Green Tea & Lemongrass but I cannot wait until I do! Lemongrass is just a relaxing scent to me so I am hoping I will really enjoy this candle! When I take the lid off and have a whiff the scent is really strong. I don’t detect the green tea so much, but I am not too fazed because I mainly bought this for the lemongrass smell.

The card to the left has a description of what the scent is and I simply love it!

Refresh (Green Tea Lemongrass)

Bright and uplifting, refresh is a zesty blend of lemongrass, green tea and safe (with just a hint of ginger). Smells like; hurrying through the fresh food market with a goal in mind. Calling out your order of herbs to the lady who’s been there since 4am, and getting it within the blink of an eye. Sitting down, having a cup of tea, looking over your (?). Cooking up an asian feast when you get home, and finishing with a sparkling kitchen and some very content, very full friends. Happy Friday!

IMG_2134

I have burnt Strawberries & Moscato a few times now and I really enjoy it! In the pot I can smell the moscato more than the strawberries, but both scents work well together to create a sweet smelling candle. Although the scent is strong in the pot, this has a more subtle burning scent, but I have only had this lit in our living area which is open plan. It will be interesting to see how this goes in a smaller area. I am so glad that I decided to pick this candle because I am really enjoying it!

Glamour (Strawberries Moscato)

Strawberries and moscato work together in this candle to create a magical, girly mix that is both sweet and tart. Smell like; getting read for a girl’s night out. Taking selfies and sipping bubbly before you move onto cocktails and wonderful (terrible) dancing. Getting the first taxi that you see, skipping the queue at the cool new bar that everyone’s talking about and going home at the exact right moment- happy, lively, young and free.

I have found that these burn beautifully and cleanly. My candles have had zero problems burning to the edge which is always important. I enjoy how the candles have a wooden lid, but I will blow out the candle and quickly shut the lid to keep the smoke contained. I wont ‘blow out’ the candle by using the lid because I’m afraid of it burning or damaging the lid.

I will probably buy more from Chloe Jane Candle Co. in the future for a few reasons. I am really enjoying the scents and its scent throw! It is hard to find nice candles that aren’t too expensive. I will also repurchase because Chloe Jane Candle Co. is from Adelaide! We Adelaidians’ need to stick together and help each other grow!

I have no doubt that I will be able to repurpose these pots once I have finished burning the candle. I have no idea what I will use them for, but I am sure I will think of something!

Price: $20 (I got mine on sale for $16)

Just before I go, I want to mention how amazing the shipping was! These were packed perfectly with lots of foam and crate paper. There was even confetti tapped to the box and thrown inside!

I would love to see more of you! Lets hang out on:

Bloggers United AU x LUSH 1st Birthday Bash!

Hey Everyone!

Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to Bloggers United AU 1st Birthday held at LUSH Marion! I was so surprised and thankful when the email arrived in my mail box asking if I would like to come! I jumped on the chance and it was so much fun!

Photos in this post were taken by the amazing Chill Hill Photography. It was amazing to have a professional photographer there for the night!

lush-marion-igram-9

This photo gives you and idea of how small of an event the night was. I feel so honoured to be apart of the night celebrating with my fellow bloggers! It was good to see people who I had met at the first Adelaide Event and catch up!

lush-marion-igram-3.jpg

For most of the night I was with these two beautiful ladies ❤ You have heard me talk about Caitlan from Procrasticaitlan all the time, the beautiful lady on the left is Ren from Ren Nay who is a YouTuber rather than a blogger! Her style is amazing and she is hilarious! I am so glad that I got this photo because it was at the start of the night when we were all still full of energy! This was also my first time taking a photo with Bloggers United AU’s Instagram cut out!

I am so thankful that I got to meet other bloggers! Sorry if you came up to me and I looked like a stunned mullet… I didn’t recognise you! I had Caitlan tell me who people were later and I felt awful!

lush-marion-igram-45.jpg

The night started off with these beautiful people explaining to us why certain ingredients are used in LUSH products. It was amazing to hear what was used and why! I was super surprised to hear that even potatoes make it into LUSH products! (I swear I’m constantly surrounded by potatoes).

lush-marion-igram-1.jpg

I loved hearing about how LUSH obtains their ingredients and how LUSH makes a huge effort to not affect the land that they use. It was interesting to hear that all the honey used in Australian LUSH products are harvested in Australia! So if you are travelling internationally and wonder why the product isn’t working the exact same as it does at home. It’s because, even though the ingredients are the same, they are unique to each country~! Their best example was with honey, which obviously would have different qualities depending on what pollen was used.

lush-marion-igram-21.jpg

The highlight of the night was the scavenger hunt! We were teamed up and set out to find products with certain ingredients in them! I thought this was an amazing idea, because it meant that we could use the knowledge we had just learnt to look for products! Everyone worked together in their teams to find everything that we needed! Sadly my group were one off from completing the challenge. But two teams went into a tie-break with one eventually becoming the winner! The tie-break was to find a product with potato in it! (I still don’t know which product that is)

lush-marion-igram-30.jpg

These are the two lovely ladies who won the scavenger hunt! Felicia from The Beauty and the Geek AU and Steph from How To Girl. Net. It was great to see such deserving people win! I loved seeing them sussing out their prize later on and sharing between the two of them! I cannot deny I was a little jealous when they posted their winnings on Instagram! Excellent work girls!

Once the scavenger hunt was completed, it was time for:

lush-marion-igram-5

More selfies and of course, when Caitlan and I are together

lush-marion-igram-24

Laughing (and being outraged?) at things that I don’t even remember!

Everyone was lucky enough to spend time shopping and discussing what would be best for our different needs. We were lucky enough to receive 1 full item to review and then shop to our hearts content! In a later post I will show what I hauled. I am so happy with what I picked up and I’m excited to try new products!

Before I end this post I just want to say a huge thank you to these beautiful ladies:

lush-marion-igram-47.jpg

Thank you again Nici from Beauty and Food and Kate from Seduced By Beauty. These ladies are the reason so many exciting things are happening for Adelaide bloggers! These two amazing ladies have also created Promote SA, which is a site dedicated to exactly what the website is called! Promoting SA talent both brand and blogger wise. I cannot wait to see what these lovely ladies have planned for us in the future. All I know is that I am super excited to be apart of it all! Congrats again ladies on another successful night!

Thank you as well to LUSH ANZ for having us. This is my first ever LUSH event and I had a blast! Thank you so much for having us there and I can’t wait to see what happens in the future. I do know that I need to get my butt back to a LUSH store to try all the different skin care products they have.

What are your must have LUSH items? I would love to know below!

I would love to see more of you, so lets hang out on:

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Haul / Swatch Post! (First Shop)

Hey Guys!

Get ready for a looooong post because I have 15 eyeshadow pigments from Femme Fatale Cosmetics. This is an Australian Brand that is based in Brisbane and their products are amazing! (I also have more on the way because of their recent collection, so get ready for that post.)

My order came quickly and I am so happy and impressed with how it was packaged. Everything was tightly packed together and it all arrived to me undamaged and looking fabulous. I received 6 samples and I love every shade.

One problem I had is that some of the pigments are just so hard to photograph! They will have a duo chrome shift and I just could not capture it. If you aren’t comfortable with my swatch don’t hesitate to rely on Femme Fatale’s, as they are what I originally used when I placed my order. They have done a great job photographing these amazing shades.

You will notice two patches of swatches on my hands. The bottom swatch is built up to show what the colour looks like, the top swatch is sheerer to show what the pigment looks like with one swipe.

Another note while editing this for the who knows how many-th time, I ordered these pigments at the start of April and have been using them since then. Feature photos will  come from my second beauty Instagram account Niji_me_.

Either way, grab a drink, bring a snack and be prepared for many shadows!

IMG_1606

Candied Apple

First up this would have to be my favourite shade out of probably all the ones I have picked up. I couldn’t be in more love with it if I tried. As soon as I opened it and swatched it, I knew I had to get in on my face. I am so glad in this photo you can see the green shift in the shadow.

Under Lord

This is my second favourite shadow, because I mean look at how pretty this shade is! I find this shade does bruise but that doesn’t change how much I love this shadow. Again you can see in the top swatch the shift that is in this pigment! If you love dark shadows, this is one for you!

Efflorescence

This is a beautiful pink based pigment with a green/gold shift. I am sorry that I’m not the best at description! Sadly this photo does not do the shift of this shadow justice, but it does show how beautifully pink this shadow is. I prefer to use this as a topper sort of shadow because it is a lighter and sheerer colour.

Inscribe

I picked up this shade because I wanted to see what some of Femme Fatales more neutral shadows were like! That being said, this still have a beautiful shimmer to this that isn’t over-powering. Inscribe is a shade that will look amazing as both a sheer wash of colour and built up on the lid.

Nether Mancer

I had a thing for purples in this haul, and I have no regrets. This is a beautiful purple shadow with a blue shift. I think I have worn this before and it lasted amazingly well! I didn’t find any bruising which is always good! While it is beautiful it is a harder shade to build, so I prefer to layer this shadow!

Demon Soul

Ahh, a black shadow to go with my soul. I haven’t had the chance to use this yet, but I am super excited to! Again this shadow has a shift, but you cannot see if very clearly in this photo. Demon Soul has a green and purple shift, I LOVE how this looks and I am super excited to get the chance to use this.

Dream State

I feel that this photo doesn’t give this shadow justice, as I sit here writing this post with a swatch on my hand it just isn’t the same. Dream State is a bold shadow that looks amazing! The blue shimmer is strong in this shadow and its amazing, I haven’t had a chance to use this shadow but I am sure when I do I will just love it more.

Illusions

I LOVE this shadow, a deep brown with a teal shift. I think ‘ahhh’ when I look at this shade because I now how easy it is to use and how beautiful it is on the eye. This is another shadow that you can use as a sheer wash or build up for a solid colour. I can see myself using through this colour pretty well.

Dispersion

My photo of Dispersion doesn’t really give the shadow justice. The top swatch sort of gives you and idea of how the shift looks, but the shift is so much stronger in real life. My photo gives you a better look at the base colour of this shadow, which is still beautiful and should be kept in mind.

IMG_1996

Spectral Fragments

Another one of my favourites, hands down, I used this in one of my makeup looks. I haven’t used this much outside of that look so far but I know I will! This is another shade that bruises you can see that in the eye look photo above. The colour all over my lid is Spectral Fragments, even though this bruised I love this shade. My photo clearly shows the shift of this colour and I am soooo thankful because it is truly beautiful. The undertone that sort of comes through is better seen in my look post but it still looks amazing! As I said, it’s still one of my favourites.

Deep Moss

My top swatch shows how this colour shifts pretty well and the bottom swatch shows what it looks like when it bruises. I find that I love the colour of this shade but find that it does not preform as pigmented as some of the other shades. I still love this shade and I’m sure I  will get lots of use out of it, but I probably wont reach for it as often.

Night in Werewolf Woods

My only disappointment in the pigments I picked up is this one, as you can see it just didn’t swatch the best. Even swatching it on the back of my hand reminds me of that. This is a shadow that looks BEAUTIFUL in the pan but it just doesn’t work as well as the others. If you really want this shade I would say get it in a sample size first and see how you go from there.

Marauders

Another shade that builds beautifully and also works as a sheer wash. My swatch photo is what Marauders looks like built up. The shift in this is a lot lighter than the base colour which gives this colour an amazing contrast. I don’t know if this shade bruises though. I can see myself using this more as a topper shade than by itself, but either way I’m glad I have it.

Sugar Rush

First up I don’t know why my swatch is looking a lot more pink based here than in real life. In real life it leans more purple and its beautiful. The shift is teal and goes with the purple perfectly. Again this is another shade that works well as a topper but can also be built up so that the purple base can be seen better. I enjoy using this shade in my inner corner!

Carnival of Horrors

I am in love with this shade, but I think I am yet to put this on my face. The top swatch shows the shift that this colour has beautifully. The bottom swatch shows the base of the shade and I am so glad that I managed to get this shot. I feel like this would be a shadow that will bruise, but the base is a lovely neutral so that wont bother me! I will let you know what it’s like when I wear it.

And thats it! I am sure I will have another haul soon because I bought the whole Faraway Collection. If you want to have a look at the collection heres a link to it:

QV Oil Free Moisturiser Matte Finish*!

Hey Guys!

Long time, no see and I’m back and with a review! I have been sent a new moisturiser, and if I’m honest, I was a little nervous to try it because I have been a die hard fan of Estee Lauder Skin Care for a long time. But when I got the email for this and it mentioned a matte finish, I didn’t hesitate and I jumped on board!

Packaging

Basically, I really like how simple the design is. It is a no-nonsense deign with all of the information you need on the front. I do enjoy how the ‘matte finish’ is highlighted in silver. My only complaint would be that because the moisturiser is so thin, there is a high chance you will squeeze out too much product.

Review

I have an incredibly oily t-zone with the worst being around my nose. Some days it’s honestly gross how much oil can be built up around my nose. I had never really thought about trying to ‘fix’ it, but now that I have changed moisturiser I realise how easy it can be!

I have been using this product for well over a month and I can’t imagine my life without it. I have sensitive skin when it comes to face/base products so as I mentioned I was a little nervous to try this. Well, that has changed and I have since expanded and bought myself the night cream from QV. I found that when I first started using this I did get little bumps on my face. This did not bother me because they were not big, painful and I’m not totally sure it was related to this in the first place (always dry your face out of the shower with a different towel! It really does make a difference). I also mildly expected that to happen as I had not changed up my skin care for a very long time.

This moisturiser is great for summer because it is thin and you do not need a lot of product to cover your face. It sinks in quickly and leaves you feeling refreshed, which is important both in the warmer and cooler months. I have noticed a change in how oily my skin is. I rarely wake up now with oil around my nose which I am so happy about! I honestly love this product, I can tell that I am running low and so will have to go out and get another!
