Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

Hey Everyone,

After all the hype I wanted to give this product a serious go before giving it a review. I have now had this product for over a month and have been using it solidly at work. So here are my thoughts on this raved about product!

There are many positives about this product, for starters that you need very little to cover your lips. Remember that this is an oil product, so it is thicker than your normal lip balm, which I have found that I prefer for work as I am less inclined to bite my lips. While using this I have found that my lips have never really flaked or dried out as they used to.
The scent is not strong and after a few moments I completely forget that this even had a scent to begin with. I have found that there is no shade to this, so wearing this all day everyday isn’t a problem. The packaging on this is amazing, I have dropped it many times on concrete and there isn’t even a ding in it.
The doe foot applicator is soooo soft and thankfully has stayed that way throughout its use. It is a big doe foot, which did take a little bit to get used to, but I think I prefer it this way as its so much easier and quicker to apply.

I have found that I talk and joke around a lot of work, meaning this wears off pretty quickly. Because of this I normally have to re-apply 2-3 times in an 8 hour work day and sometimes I am pushing it out until I feel uncomfortable before reapplying. While there is a lot of product, I feel like I am powering through this pretty well, which is a bit upsetting considering how much these cost.
Thankfully I had a gift card and 10% off when I bought mine and I am really glad that I did that. One problem I had was deciding which one I wanted, I didn’t really want any of the scents that they have available and only really settled for Mint because I knew it would bother me the least. Ideally a bigger shade/ scent range would be available.

Overall I enjoy this product and I am glad that I have it with me while working. I do think how quickly I am going through it does affect my opinion on it a lot as I am unsure if I want to get another one when I finish this one. That being said, that might change when I actually finish it up and see how long it has lasted.

Amie Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish*

Hey Everyone,

For the last 5 months I have been using the Amie Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish as my in shower and only facial exfoliator.

The Amie Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish should be used when your face is damp, which instantly gets brownie points with me as it means I can include it as apart of my shower routine.

I want to say straight away, that if you have sensitive skin, you probably are not going to enjoying using this product. That is only because of the fact that the exfoliator is actually very harsh. I would not use this more than once a week because you would then be damaging your skin. I only tend to use this when I feel like my face is in need of a real deep clean. Which is generally after a hard day of work or I am in the mood to pamper myself. While this is a harsh exfoliator I have never had any issues with my skin from it. My skin did not break out, nor did the texture change after using it for 3+ months.

Another bonus I find with this product is that you do not need a lot of product to cover your face. I generally find with skin products I need to use a little extra then advertised to actually cover my face and get full use of the product. With the Amie Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish I find that less is generally more. The size of a small-ish grape is all I use, and I am glad as it means that the product lasts longer.

One aspect that I did have a little trouble dealing with was the smell, if smell is important to you, or it affects your skin, sadly you probably should stay away from this product. There is a strong fake smell to the product, not bad, at least to me, but it is something to keep in mind. Over time I have noticed it less, but it is still a strong smell and something to keep in mind.

When I first received this product, it was as a PR sample, but during the most recent Priceline Sale I found myself picking up a backup. I know the one in my shower is finally starting to run low and the idea of being without it shocked me.

Overall I really do enjoy this exfoliator, and I am so glad that I tried this and that it has become a part of my weekly pamper session in the shower.

What exfoliator should I try next?

LUSH Rub Rub Rub Body Scrub~*

Hey Everyone,

A while ago I was lucky enough to attend a Bloggers United x LUSH 2nd birthday bash! While there we got to watch some face scrubs be made, and as always learn more about the fabulous company that is LUSH. At the end of the night we were lucky enough to pick one full size product. I decided on getting the biggest size of Rub Rub Rub because I had used it before and was missing it in my life.

Rub Rub Rub is a scrub that is advertised to be used both in and out of the shower, so I will talk about both uses separately.

Out of the shower: I found that I did not enjoy using Rub Rub Rub on dry skin, the product obviously does not last as long or go as far on dry skin. Getting the product to move around on my leg was harder then I thought it would be. Sometimes it would cling to drier patches. I felt as well that my skin didn’t feel as nice afterwards, that it had not scrubbed my skin as well as it could have.

In the shower: I LOVE using this in the shower, as it spreads a lot easier on my skin and because I am already wet, the product goes further, which is important considering how expensive LUSH products can get. I also enjoy the fact that Rub Rub Rub can be used by itself as a soap, as the product smells amazing and suds up as soap normally does.

Overall I really enjoying using this scrub as it is not super abrasive. That being said, some of my friends can’t use this because it is still too strong for them, so if you are thinking of trying this maybe still get the smaller size first. I don’t use this all that often, only when I am shaving my legs (which is maybe once a week/ when my partner visits). If you are not a fan of strong smells you might not enjoy this smell, as it does smell strongly of the sea, which is something that I don’t mind. The best thing for me is that I can use a small amount and it moves easily on my skin and I can get everywhere that I want to. Because the product is finer, I find it easier to scrub parts where I am more inclined to get in grown hairs.

My own biggest issue with this is the packaging, which is a jar, because even right now there is product in the seal and I find that it is hard to get out because I don’t want to get the inside of the jar wet.

Otherwise this is one of my favourites and I am so glad that I get to have this huge jar to work through!

What are some of your favourite body scrubs?

Grow Gorgeous – Cleansing Conditioner Colour Protect!

Hey Everyone!

I bet this isn’t something you would expect from me, a hair product review! Recently I have been having trouble with trying to get moisture back into my hair. I was testing a product I had received and I feel like it stripped my hair and I am now on the road to recovery. I picked up the Grow Gorgeous Cleansing Condition in the colour protect version because I got all sorts of colour going on in my hair right now.

During one of Priceline’s 50% off Hair Care sales, I decided to pick this up. Not gonna lie, I had eyed this off before during a different sale, purely because of the packaging. The artwork makes me think of manga and that always cheers me up.

Come on, I mean, who can say no to these cuties? They are clearly ready to protect my hair from everything!

Never before have I used a product like this. Grow Gorgeous have created a product that is a shampoo, conditioner and treatment in one. On the back of the product (shown below) it lists all of the benefits of this conditioner.

Its super easy to use, just wet your hair, put this in and leave it for 3 minutes. I love this product and am super surprised at how well it works! The smell of this conditioner is amazing and I have made my poor friends smell my hair countless times (sorry, not sorry). I went back and picked up a backup before the end of the sale so I don’t have to stress about running out any time soon.

My only negative for this is the consistency, its a super thin, milky texture. My problem with this is that I have super thick hair, so I honestly do not get THAT many uses out of a bottle, I have washed my hair 5 times with this and I have not run out, but I do not think I have much left in this bottle. Because of that I don’t use it as my all the time conditioner. I will mix this up with my normal shampoo making this more of a treat/ pamper time product.

I know I will be getting more of this when I run out and it’s on sale because sadly this is a pretty expensive product. At least, its more than what I normally would want to pay for a shampoo or conditioner. This is another reason why I do not use it all the time. I want to make it a treat sort of product.

Overall I really like this treatment and I am super glad that I decided to pick it up and give it a chance! This has absolutely helped the condition of my hair and I am so thankful for that. If you try this conditioner I would love to hear your thoughts on it as well.

Shanghai Lil and The Scarlet Fez Soap Review!

Hey Everyone!

It sure has been a while since I talked about this amazing brand. I have since had the chance to start using these beautiful soaps! I collect soaps, so that is why it has taken me so long to getting around to these, but here I am so lets get into it.

My first impression on this amazing brand can be found here.

At the moment these are still the only two soaps that I own from Shanghai Lil but I will, without a doubt, be getting more the next time I go shopping. I am sorry but I haven’t taken photos of the soap, so please take my word for it that they are beautiful.

I have now used soap in the scent Riviera Escapade which is described as a Classic Lavender & Citrus scent, I can honestly say that I have never smelt a soap before that has calmed me down in the way this soap has. When I first smelt it, I had been a bit stressed about everyone, after taking a whiff of this I calm right down. Straight away this soap was a winner in my books, from there I knew without a doubt that I would love this soap throughout its use. Of course, I was right, I have almost used this up and I seriously need another one.

I am currently using Winter field which has a Bracing Lavender & Rosemary scent and I find that I am not in love with the scent as much as my first one. This doesn’t mean that I don’t like it though, it’s just when I shop next I will repurchase the first one instead. It has been good trying this one because I had forgotten what it was like when I first opened the packaging! These soaps are amazing the whole way through but you do have to make sure that you keep the soap wet otherwise it can drag/ stick to your skin a little. Nothing serious but something to keep in mind!

Although I love the scent of these soaps, it is not actually my favourite aspect, my favourite part is how much it lathers when I use it. For me, this lathers perfectly, its not too much that I can’t see my skin through it, but it is enough, that when I shave, I know exactly where I have been. When the soap is nearly finished, I have found that it holds its integrity  pretty well. By this I mean that even though the soap is almost non-existant, it is still relatively easy to use and get a really nice lather. I have had other soaps in the past where once it got to a certain size it was just not worth my time.

Shanghai Lil’s Cold Pressed Soaps are honestly some of the bests soaps I have used in a long time. I cannot recommend their soaps enough. When I am shopping next I will make sure to try and step out of my Lavender zone. I am hoping that the others are just as good as the first ones I have tried!

What have you tired from Shanghai Lil? Let me know below!

I would love to see you again, so lets hang out on:

Chloe Jane Candle Co. Haul!

Hey Everyone!

Today I have a candle post for you all, it is well and truly winter now in Australia, so I have been cracking out all the candles! I am also always on the hunt for good candles. I preferably like to get indie brand candles because I want to support those trying to build their business!

Recently, Chloe Jane Candle Co. had a sale so I jumped right on it! Chloe Jane Candle Co is an Adelaide based company! Right away I knew I had to get on board and try some of these awesome candles!

These were the two scents that I picked up! I went with a trusty favourite Green Tea & Lemongrass and thought I would give Strawberries & Moscato a try because, why not?

I am loving the cute little inspiration quote on this card! It was unexpected but an amazing touch. On the back of the card are care instructions, for example burn time and preferred wick length.

I have yet to burn Green Tea & Lemongrass but I cannot wait until I do! Lemongrass is just a relaxing scent to me so I am hoping I will really enjoy this candle! When I take the lid off and have a whiff the scent is really strong. I don’t detect the green tea so much, but I am not too fazed because I mainly bought this for the lemongrass smell.

The card to the left has a description of what the scent is and I simply love it!

Refresh (Green Tea Lemongrass)

Bright and uplifting, refresh is a zesty blend of lemongrass, green tea and safe (with just a hint of ginger). Smells like; hurrying through the fresh food market with a goal in mind. Calling out your order of herbs to the lady who’s been there since 4am, and getting it within the blink of an eye. Sitting down, having a cup of tea, looking over your (?). Cooking up an asian feast when you get home, and finishing with a sparkling kitchen and some very content, very full friends. Happy Friday!

I have burnt Strawberries & Moscato a few times now and I really enjoy it! In the pot I can smell the moscato more than the strawberries, but both scents work well together to create a sweet smelling candle. Although the scent is strong in the pot, this has a more subtle burning scent, but I have only had this lit in our living area which is open plan. It will be interesting to see how this goes in a smaller area. I am so glad that I decided to pick this candle because I am really enjoying it!

Glamour (Strawberries Moscato)

Strawberries and moscato work together in this candle to create a magical, girly mix that is both sweet and tart. Smell like; getting read for a girl’s night out. Taking selfies and sipping bubbly before you move onto cocktails and wonderful (terrible) dancing. Getting the first taxi that you see, skipping the queue at the cool new bar that everyone’s talking about and going home at the exact right moment- happy, lively, young and free.

I have found that these burn beautifully and cleanly. My candles have had zero problems burning to the edge which is always important. I enjoy how the candles have a wooden lid, but I will blow out the candle and quickly shut the lid to keep the smoke contained. I wont ‘blow out’ the candle by using the lid because I’m afraid of it burning or damaging the lid.

I will probably buy more from Chloe Jane Candle Co. in the future for a few reasons. I am really enjoying the scents and its scent throw! It is hard to find nice candles that aren’t too expensive. I will also repurchase because Chloe Jane Candle Co. is from Adelaide! We Adelaidians’ need to stick together and help each other grow!

I have no doubt that I will be able to repurpose these pots once I have finished burning the candle. I have no idea what I will use them for, but I am sure I will think of something!

Price: $20 (I got mine on sale for $16)

Just before I go, I want to mention how amazing the shipping was! These were packed perfectly with lots of foam and crate paper. There was even confetti tapped to the box and thrown inside!

I would love to see more of you! Lets hang out on:

QV Oil Free Moisturiser Matte Finish*!

Hey Guys!

Long time, no see and I’m back and with a review! I have been sent a new moisturiser, and if I’m honest, I was a little nervous to try it because I have been a die hard fan of Estee Lauder Skin Care for a long time. But when I got the email for this and it mentioned a matte finish, I didn’t hesitate and I jumped on board!

Basically, I really like how simple the design is. It is a no-nonsense deign with all of the information you need on the front. I do enjoy how the ‘matte finish’ is highlighted in silver. My only complaint would be that because the moisturiser is so thin, there is a high chance you will squeeze out too much product.

I have an incredibly oily t-zone with the worst being around my nose. Some days it’s honestly gross how much oil can be built up around my nose. I had never really thought about trying to ‘fix’ it, but now that I have changed moisturiser I realise how easy it can be!

I have been using this product for well over a month and I can’t imagine my life without it. I have sensitive skin when it comes to face/base products so as I mentioned I was a little nervous to try this. Well, that has changed and I have since expanded and bought myself the night cream from QV. I found that when I first started using this I did get little bumps on my face. This did not bother me because they were not big, painful and I’m not totally sure it was related to this in the first place (always dry your face out of the shower with a different towel! It really does make a difference). I also mildly expected that to happen as I had not changed up my skin care for a very long time.

This moisturiser is great for summer because it is thin and you do not need a lot of product to cover your face. It sinks in quickly and leaves you feeling refreshed, which is important both in the warmer and cooler months. I have noticed a change in how oily my skin is. I rarely wake up now with oil around my nose which I am so happy about! I honestly love this product, I can tell that I am running low and so will have to go out and get another!

Location and Price

This product is available at Priceline and will only set you back $16.60.

Have you tried this moisturiser? What do you think! Let me know in the comments below.
